Described as ‘a cross between the King’s Singers and Desperate Dan’ the Demon Barbers perform razor-sharp barbershop, 90° proof spirituals, funky folk and humorous original songs along with their own special arrangements of pop classics from the 30s to the present day. The Demon Barbers have appeared in concert and cabaret at music festivals, clubs, theatres, arts centres, Public Schools and company dinners, and are the only group to have made their South Bank debut in London Underground’s prestigious Waterloo and City line tunnel!

The group has performed extensively on BBC and Commercial Radio and Television, appearing on programmes such as TVS’s ‘No.73’, Jonathan Ross’ ‘Last Resort’, the BBC2 ‘DEF II House Party’ with Normsky, Brian Matthew’s ‘Round Midnight’ and Esther Rantzen’s ‘That’s Life’.

The Demon Barbers have made two commercial recordings, A Cut Above released in 1990 and A Close Shave completed in 1994 and on general release world-wide. The Music Retailers Association judged A Close Shave the best record in its class.
