Place: Victoria Park, Haywards Heath
Description: CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF MOTOWN IN THE CENTRE OF TOWN – VICTORIA PARK, HAYWARDS HEATH WITH ‘HOW SWEET IT IS’ – FRIDAY 10 JULY, 2009

The Four Tops and The Temptations have between them two of the longest and most distinguished careers to date in popular music, going back to 1954 when the ‘Tops’ performed at a high school graduation party and, until recently, still consisting of the original four members. In the early 1960’s the ‘Tops’ teamed up with Berry Gordy Jnr., the boss of Tamla Motown Records, and also the home of The Temptations. The rest, as they say, is ‘History’.

On Friday 10 July, that’s exactly what’s in store at Victoria Park, Haywards Heath, West Sussex – ‘How Sweet It Is – Featuring The All Time Greatest Hits Of Motown Legends The Four Tops and The Temptations’. ‘How Sweet It Is’ both celebrates and recreates all the wonderful vibes and music that originated in Detroit in the 1950’s, and in particular music from The Four Tops and The Temptations, along with other legendary artist’s from the period. The show takes you on a musical journey through the golden Tamla Motown days of the 60’s and 70’s.

This Show is an evening crammed full of all your Motown favourites, with a large dosage of the UK Hits of the Four Tops and The Temptations, - Reach Out I’ll Be There, Walk Away Renee, Bernadette, I Can’t Help Myself, The Same Old Song, Going Loco in Acapulco, My Girl, Ain't Too Proud To Beg, Treat Her Like a Lady, and Get Ready, to name but a few, PLUS, hits from other famous artists of the era such as Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers, The Jacksons, Stevie Wonder, Edwin Starr, etc., etc.

And don’t forget all that fancy footwork, their four fantastic vocalists, Michael, Martell, Geo, and Jordan, are also trained dancers and the choreography of this show is something else! – a 2 hour spectacle of non stop hits, every one a classic.

‘How Sweet It Is’ is backed and supported by superb musicians – ‘The Peter Brent Orchestra’, a fantastic 8-piece band including a 4-piece horn section all under the musical direction of Mr Peter Brent.

This promises to be an all action packed show and guaranteed to have everyone singing and dancing in the aisles, in fact after two recent shows in Jersey, the following day’s review quoted – “They had the moves, the looks, the voices and every Motown classic you could wish for. This was an outstanding show and a night that will be long remembered”.
