Description: | With David Newton, piano and Len Skeat, bass Dutchman Tim Kliphuis has a reputation as one of the most imaginative, exciting and entertaining violinists on the acoustic scene. He combines Gypsy, Classical, Folk, Tango, World music and Grappelli jazz to create an inspired and daring fusion with soulful melodies, driving rhythms and funky chords. Maintaining a busy schedule, he has racked up successful appearances at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, North Sea and Edinburgh Jazz Festivals, Richard Strauss Festival and Fiddles On Fire, dazzling audiences and fellow musicians alike. Tonight, Tim plays selections from his CD 'Swingin’ Through the Classics', masterful swing arrangements of great Classical melodies. |
