| Description: | Strauss Overture to Die Fledermaus Lalo Cello Concerto Beethoven Symphony No. 6 "The Pastoral" For our last concert of the season we are very pleased to welcome the wonderful Stephanie Oade to play Lalo’s rarely heard but magnificent cello concerto. The overture to Die Fledermaus opens with a depiction of the popping of champagne corks and continues with some gloriously memorable tunes and Beethoven’s Pastoral is surely one of the most beautiful symphonies ever written. |
