This exhilarating programme, centred around Wagner's own Prelude and Liebestod and his Wesendonck Lieder, also features Richard Strauss's virtuosic tone poem Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks, Anton Webern's beautiful early composition Langsamer Satz, and Mahler's famous Adagietto from his mighty Fifth Symphony. |
