| Description: | The main works for the Autumn Concert at All Saints Chapel, Eastbourne, by The Aanna Colls Singers, directed by Aanna Colls, accompanied by David Force B Organ and Helen Arnold B harp, on November 6th at 3pm are: Janácek's 'Our Father' & Gounod's 'Mass to St Cecilia' Sung in English, Janácek's 'OUR FATHER' is sensitively set with a themed harp melody and lush organ writing. Hundreds of masses have been written before and since Gounod composed his 'SOLEMN MASS FOR ST. CECILIA' in 1855. Yet in terms of lyrical beauty, St. Cecilia should rank as one the great accomplishments in Western music. |
