Title: Lunchtime Concert St Leonard's Church Seaford. Sussex Flutes
Promoted by: St. Leonard’s Church, Seaford
Time: Saturday, 9 April 2016, at 1:00pm
Place: St Leonard’s Church, Seaford
Description: Sussex Flutes was founded in 2009 and it is an ensemble of five Sussex-based flautists, Victoria Hancox, Nicole Leclercq, Anne Hodgson, Sue Gregg and Katrin Heymann. The ensemble has established a reputation of high quality flute chamber music. Performances by Sussex Flutes usually include the whole range of the flute family from piccolo to alto and bass flutes, which gives their recitals great variety. They have a rapidly growing repertoire, which ranges from original works to arrangements, many done by members of the ensemble themselves. Since 2010 Sussex Flutes have organised and hosted the very popular Brighton and Hove Flute Day and among their special guests were Stephen Clark, Lisa Nelsen, Ian Clark and Peter Verheyen. Today’s programme includes music especially written for Sussex Flutes - Two Sussex Folktunes by Peter Copley and Dancin 4 5 by Ian Morgan-Williams. These local composers are members of a Brighton collective called  New Music Brighton.
