Providing an ideal opportunity for reflection as we move through Lent towards Holy Week just a week away. The Sequence includes choral and organ music for Lent, all of which is full of drama and passion. Dramatic and contemplative music of the Season, ranging from the 16th-20th century will provide an ideal atmosphere in our journey through the Lenten season.
As always the Sequence ends with Allegri’s sublime setting of Psalm 51 – ‘Misere’ (‘Have mercy on me, O God’) with its stratospheric treble lines which draw our attention up to Heaven and the sublime.
