| Description: | For the second year Straight no Chaser big band are putting on a 'Big Band Spectactular' at the Chequer Mead Theatre in East Grinstead. Straight No Chaser are now one of the finest big bands in the region. Playing a wide range of material stretching from early Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Benny Goodman to modern funk and latin masterpieces as performed by bands such as NYJO. The Fantastic vocalists, Gary Wirght and Rosanna Schura join this superb collection of musicians, many of whom are soloists and bandleaders in their own right, to add their quintessential vocal sound to the band, smoky and soulful, or exuberant and delightful in equal measure. This band does it all, delicate ballads full of atmosphere and tingling with excitement, or rip roaring solos over a funky blues number. Welcome to one of the most marvellous musical experiences imaginable, step right up for the big band! |
