| Description: | Katherine Jenkins returns to Haywards Heath for the fourth time on Saturday 11 July, 2009 for a magical summer’s evening of international quality making Victoria Park one of the most frequented venues of her outdoor concerts. A classically trained mezzo-soprano, Katherine Jenkins has 6 albums under her belt; her fifth album, Rejoice, outsold such major pop acts as Girls Aloud and the Spice Girls, entering at number 3 in the pop charts. All four of her previous studio albums went to the top of the classical charts. Her sixth album, Sacred Arias, also reached the top of the classical charts and entered the pop charts at number 5. At 28 years old she is already the fastest-selling mezzo soprano ever. Sacred Arias, has enabled her to tackle a wide variety of styles, from the great arias of opera to the classics of Hollywood. “I’ve never done a themed album before,” she says. “I’ve always tended to collect requests and other songs, but these came very naturally and easily to me.” Katherine is not only glamorous but her vocal capabilities are impressive, coated with a warm, colourful timbre and delicate vibrato. The fabulous Sussex Symphony Orchestra conducted by the charismatic conductor Mark Andrew James will accompany her with guests yet to be announced. For someone who has done so much in five years – five classical No 1 albums, four million record sales and the distinction of being the first classical artist to have two No 1 albums in the same year performing everywhere from the Sydney Opera House to Royal Albert Hall, promoter, Tim French of It’s Magic said ‘I am delighted that Katherine has agreed to perform for a fourth time, enabling us to continue to create prestigious events for Haywards Heath’.
