Description:	This fine selection of works from three outstanding composers open with Schubert's Stabat Mater - a short, simple & poignant piece for chorus using the early verses of the Latin version. Next comes Handel's joyful work 'O Praise the Lord' as a tribute to the composer in the season commemorating the 250th anniversary of his death. Following the interval is the delightful & familiar poetic works by Faure' 'Cantique De Jean Racine'. The evening comes to a climax with orchestra, soprano, tenor & bass soloists & choir performing Schuberts second Stabat Mater (D383) using the words by Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock.
