Following Weber’s rousing and uplifting Der Freischutz Overture to his ground-breaking opera, we’re joined by the remarkable 13 year-old cellist Laura van der Heijden for Elgar’s elegiac Cello Concerto. The second half features Dvorak’s gloriously sunny 6th Symphony, combining the German tradition of Brahms and Beethoven with the sounds of Czech folk music
