Description: | Phoenix Choir,directed by Michael Fields, presents a reflective commemoration in music of 1914 and what it means to us today. The programme is centred on the English composers of the war years and features soloists Ansy Boothroyd, soprano, John Hancorn, baritone and Howard Beach, piano. A singalong of WW1 songs is included also folk song settings from modern composers, and works on the themes of war and loss from 15th century onwards as well as works of our own times:e.g. Karl Jenkins |
