Description: | Celebrate this Christmas in style with Gary Williams star of the West End's 'Rat Pack' and his Big Band Wonderland at The Triangle, Burgess Hill on Saturday 6th December. Described by Time Out as “The UK's leading standard bearer for the super cool era”, Gary comes straight from sell out concerts at Ronnie Scott's, the Los Angeles Jazz Festival and Sinatra's Palm Spring's home. Take a sleigh ride with Gary and sixteen piece The Len Phillips Big Band and festive favourites from Andy Williams, Mel Tormé, Nat 'King' Cole and Frank Sinatra. A performance packed with the all-time holiday classics including Let It Snow, White Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and many more. Special guest stars The Patriot Girls bring a touch of glamour, tight choreography and tight vocal harmonies to a sprinkling of Christmas classics including Santa Baby and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. Lord Jeffrey Archer described the girls as “bloody marvellous” after a special Olympic Ball and Bob Hope's daughter, Linda, told them, “Bob would have adored you! You were incredible”. Local talent Nia Coleman also makes her debut with the The Len Phillips Big Band bringing her own touch of holiday magic to this very special show. Gary Williams has performed as a soloist with leading big bands and concert orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Melbourne Symphony, the BBC Big Band, Ireland's RTE and the Lahti Sinfonia Finland. He toured the UK in The Legend of Sinatra and in a tribute to the music of Fred Astaire, which was presented by his daughter Ava. His recent album paying tribute to Sinatra was Jazz FM's Album of the Week and has been released in Japan. His "Best of" CD (featuring highlights of his Abbey Road recordings) prompted Oscar winning lyricist Don Black to say, "In a world of Pop Idol mediocrity Gary Williams shines like a dazzling beacon" "Not only is he a brilliant singer; he also puts the audience at ease. A lot of artists are not good at being themselves when not singing - Gary is as relaxed chatting as he is singing, and he's funny too. Don't miss him." London What's On "You make me feel drunk with smiles and happiness." Gaby Roslin BBC Radio London |
