| Description: | Haydn Piano Trio in D minor, Hob.XV:23, No. 37 Tchaikovsky String Quartet in F, No. 2 Schumann Studies in Canon Form, Op. 56 Beethoven Piano Trio in G major, Op. 1 No .2 This opening concert brings together many strands that run throughout this year's programme - the first being Haydn. Pianist Bengt Forsberg joins violinist Catherine Manson and cellist Hannah Sloane for Haydn’s Piano Trio in D minor. This is followed by Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet No 2, played by violinists Michael Gurevich and Beatrice Philips, violist Tim Ridout and cellist Pierre Doumenge. In the second half, violinist Tom Hankey, cellist Philip Higham and pianist Bengt Forsberg perform Schumann’s Studies in Canon Form. Violinist Tim Crawford, cellist Philip Highham and pianist Mishka Momen then finish the concert with Beethoven’s Piano Trio in G major, from his opus 1 set. |
