Description: | Clare Beesley Clare specializes in performance on historical flutes that span the Renaissance to Romantic periods. Awarded a Masters degree from the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, The Netherlands, in 2006, she now enjoys a busy performing career. In an orchestral setting, Clare frequently plays with Concerto Amsterdam, Collegium Musicum Den Haag (The Netherlands) and Orkester Le Chardon (Germany) and and has enjoyed recent engagements with the Barokksolistene (Sweden), Das Kleine Konzert (Germany) and Accademia Amsterdam (The Netherlands). As a chamber player, she directs the Renaissance flute consort Catch As Catch Can and is half of the Baroque duo Chelys Sonora. She has guested as early flute specialist on the annual chamber music course Baroque Week since 2009, examines for ABRSM and is pursuing a PhD at Leiden University under the supervision of Dr. Ardal Powell and Prof. Ton Koopman. Peter Lea-Cox After studying organ at the RAM, Peter has had a rich and varied career as a teacher, composer and keyboard player. He taught choral conducting, keyboard skills and sight singing at the Academy and was Director of Music at St. Jude-on-the-Hill in NW London from 1973-1986. At St. Mary-at-Hill in the City, he founded a Bach Cantata Series in 1976 drawing on his students from the Academy. This developed during his time as Cantor of the Lutheran Church of St. Anne and St. Agnes to include the Cantatas in their correct liturgical position in Worship in a series entitled Bach Vespers. He has had an active freelance career, undertaking organ concerts and choral workshops largely in Denmark and the U.S.A. He served as an examiner for the ABRSM for over twenty years.
