Stand by for Benedetti delivering another stunner, a year after knocking listeners flat here with Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata and six months after her Brahms Concerto whammy double. Grieg’s popular Peer Gynt Suite No 1 (including ‘Morning’ and ‘The Hall of the Mountain King’) and Tchaikowsky’s fate-ridden 4th Symphony set the scene. |
