Description: | Hogmanay lasts until January 15 in Worthing – when Nicola Benedetti visits ‘my second home’. Scotland’s irresistible TV classical violinist in Britain’s living room plays live with Worthing Symphony Orchestra the 2nd Concerto of Polish composer Karol Szymanovsky, with whose 1st Concerto she originally became BBC Young Musician of the Year. Stand by for Benedetti delivering another stunner, a year after knocking listeners flat here with Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata and six months after her Brahms Concerto whammy double. Grieg’s popular Peer Gynt Suite No 1 (including ‘Morning’ and ‘The Hall of the Mountain King’) and Tchaikowsky’s fate-ridden 4th Symphony set the scene. |
