Description: | After a formal musical training at the Royal College of Music in the 80s, Ellie Blackshaw has consistantly been in demand as chamber musician playing a wide variety of repertoire, from old to contemporary, both as violinist and violist in and around Brighton and London. Julian Broughton is a composer and pianist. His compositions include Symphony in E, commissioned by Horsham Symphony Orchestra, and a Sonata for Violin and Piano (premiered in 2015 by Ellie Blackshaw and Rachel Fryer). As a pianist, Julian works regularly with flautist Julie Groves and soprano Sophie Pullen. The Buxted Symphony Orchestra appointed him as their conductor in 2013. The programme will include: Vaughan William’s ‘Lark Ascending’, Sonata for Violin and Piano by Julian Broughton, Elgar’s ‘Chanson de Nuit’ and ‘Chanson de Matin’. |
