Antoine Brumel was one of the most revered and influential composers of the Renaissance. The texture of his Missa Et Ecce Terrae Motus is as rich as port - not least because it's written for twelve parts. His Scottish contemporary Robert Carver was even greedier when it came to singers. His motet, O Bone Jesu, is written for 19 parts, most of them tenors! Byrdsong is an occasional choir of professional and amateur singers, who join together to sing lovely music in, and in aid of, lovely churches. Proceeds will be shared between Nepal Water for Health and the St Mary's Piano Fund. St Mary's is raising money for a new concert-worthy piano - which will mean more lovely music in a lovely church! |
Tickets: | £10 / £ 8 conc - available on the door. Children free! |
