Description: | In their final concert of the year the Worth Choral Society, joined by the Kidbrooke Park Singers, and four fabulous solists, will be performing two great choral works. Conducted by Michael Oakley, Worth Abbey’s Director of Music. Haydn’s glorious “Nelson Mass” is full of energy and drama as well as occasional hints of humour in the orchestral writing which lifts Haydn’s already attractive style onto another level. The sublime Serenade to Music by Vaughan-Williams offers some of the most exquisite music in the English repertoire, in its setting of part of Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice. Orchestral music by Fauré, Mussorgsky and Elgar add the final dimension to this concert. Concert in aid of Worth Irundu Frienship. |
