Lied to the Sun Flor Peeters (1903-1986) One of the distinguished musicians of his generation, D’Arcy Trinkwon is respected for his dedication to the organ as a concert instrument: he is one of the few organists whose career has been built solely at the organ. Concert engagements around the world include international festivals and celebrity series in concert halls, cathedrals and churches, include recording, broadcasts, masterclasses, teaching and concertos performances. Alongside his concert career he is the Organist of Worth Abbey and of the University of Sussex. Head Chorister at Canterbury Cathedral his teachers and mentors were Allan Wicks, H. A. and Jennifer Bate, Jane Parker-Smith, Jean Guillou and Odile Pierre. His instinctive affinity with the instrument is grounded in scholarship and an encyclopedic knowledge of his craft; his vast repertoire one of the most extensive of any artist before the public includes all the established masterpieces of all periods. One of so many musicians whose careers were frozen by Covid, in an attempt to keep music alive in a very moderate way for the pleasure of music-lovers, he began sharing a personal archive of concert recordings via his YouTube channel: Virtuoso Organ Music now features over 200 listings offering an unparalleled range of over four centuries of repertoire. In addition to detailed information on the music, he also shares insights into his personal relationship with each work. Website: darcytrinkwon.com | YouTube: Virtuoso Organ Music |
