He was living the music and you felt you were under a spell of he and the music combined. The whole thing was electrifying. “He played the Medtner Sonata Minacciosa so well it completely came alive. The Interview Concerts are Worthing’s unique, sought-after classical concert experience – set In The Round for intimate audience connectivity and communion with the performing artiste in close-up. Meet Kenny Fu, out of the Purcell School, then to the Royal Academy of Music in 2016 as then the only pianist under the Sir Elton John Scholarship. There’ll be sparkling, unrevealed surprises from Grieg and Stravinsky, plus a dynamic Mystery Music Spot. Exclusive personal conversation with a secret Guest Interviewer and with the audience in Ask A Question. He’ll improvise on a theme taken from the audience and then play the movement they choose from Beethoven’s ‘Hammerklavier’ Sonata after he talks about all four and what the music means to him. He’ll perform the London Russian Nikolai Medtner’s Sonata Reminiscenza ‘Forgotten Melodies’, and three Intermezzos and the Ballade from Brahms’ late-blooming Opus 117 & 118 pieces.
