| Description: | The programme begins with Bizet's Carmen Suite no.1, followed by Chaz Hart's Blue Wave Concerto for Guitar. This concerto was completed in 2020 and was inspired by the composer's boat journeys to Key West, Sierra Nevada and the Grand Canyon. The final piece is the great Symphony no.2 in D major by Sibelius, completed in 1902, of which Sibelius said: "My second symphony is a confession of the soul". |
