Place: | Hawth Theatre, Crawley |
Description: | Come and join in with a vibrant evening of the best of London's West End musicals both past and present. "Ariel Company Theatre, fresh from their acclaimed production of Jesus Christ Superstar in 2004, and following hot on the heels of "A Night Out With Courteney Cox" this coming May, tackle the recent hit shows of the West End with their usual gusto. Powerful in harmonious chorus, agile in dance, emotive in solos, the company that considers Rodgers and Hammerstein to be musical ovaltine rips into excerpts from the Queen musical "We Will Rock You", swings from the bell ropes of "Notre Dame de Paris", and explores the physical contradictions broached by "Jekyll and Hyde". Hear them croon to "Rat Pack" standards, indulge in the emotional politics of "Chess", and draw a tear with the lachrymose climax to "Blood Brothers". A guaranteed evening of class performances, a tour de force of modern musical theatre." |
